It’s time to start thinking about your new coat

Let’s face it, coats are no longer reserved for keeping you warm as the temperature plummets. They’re a statement; an entire outfit on their own and they need to be carefully selected (no pressure). Every Autumn/Winter is awash with so many dreamy new coat styles, it can all get a bit overwhelming.  So, wondering which coat to invest in this season? We’re glad you asked…

The Teddy

(Baby) it’s cold outside. Enter the teddy coat to make you feel warm and toasty. Whether cropped or longline, this cosy coat will see you through a cold snap. Typically an oversized fit, the longer line teddy looks best paired with jeans, slim trousers and mini skirts, while its cropped sister version sits well with floaty smock dresses and flares.

The Overcoat

A classic shape and a wardrobe staple, the overcoat can take you from desk to dawn and everywhere in between. Smart enough for work, but chic enough to throw over jeans and a knit. We love it in neutral shades like camel and grey, but highly encourage you to dabble in a statement blue or bold orange.

The Trucker

The trucker is your go-to for transitional dressing; cropped style, slightly oversized and guaranteed to complement to any outfit. Preferably served in soft neutrals or a faux-fur style, truckers will take you from autumn to winter plus day to night. In particular, they look great with a mini and some knee-high boots, if you’re still into keeping warm.

The Printed

When it’s a bleak Monday morning, a printed coat is required to perk up your mood. Look to classic checks and animal print to liven up your outerwear (and outfit). Available in trucker jackets, overcoats and wrap styles, we’ve got you covered (literally). Keep the rest of the outfit minimal to show off your printed piece. Wallflowers need not apply.
