Festival Style Tips from Electra Formosa

When a seasoned Coachella-goer lets you in on her festival style advice, you take notes – which is exactly what we’re doing with Electra’s festival outfitting secrets. These style tips will keep you feeling cool, staying warm and looking good, all festival weekend long – read and learn, people…

1. Wear Practical Shoes…

“At Coachella, or at any UK festival, don’t make the mistake of wearing heels or open toe sandals. There is a lot of dust (or mud!) and you will be walking, standing – and hopefully dancing – a lot. My go to is a cute pair of ankle boots!”

2. Plan layers…

“Like lots of summer festivals, a lot of the festival is going to be at night and it can get quite cold, so take a light jacket or jumper to throw over your look. I love army style shackets & kimonos as you can tie them at the waist or pop it in a backpack.”

3. Take a practical bag…

“Go for a small backpack, cross body or even a bumbag. That way you have your hands free and by taking a small bag you’ll only pack the essentials.”

4. Accessories will make your outfit….

“Festivals are the perfect time to go wild with you looks and accessories can be the easiest way to do that. Try layering chokers, adding ear cuffs anything statement can really spice up an outfit.”

5. If in doubt go for denim shorts…

“Denim shorts can be the easiest thing to throw on with a cute top and cool accessories. Most of us have a pair in our closet but if not find a great fitting pair…I love Miss Selfridge’s high waisted ones. You can also wear them over the whole weekend of a festival and just switch out tops and accessories to change it up each day.”
